But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

A recommendation from my younger sister when I went back home last week for her high school graduation. It's safe to assume that almost all songs are a metaphor for the performer's feelings/experiences/views on life/etc., but really, this song is being pretty literal about the fall of Pompeii. This song's been getting quite a bit of airplay (along with an increasingly ardent fanbase). It's not that the chorus hits too close to home for me, but that they're so straightforward and honest in reflecting where I stand. I guess I just wonder what this song triggers for everyone else...

It's sad because this is the closest I can get to honest.

I'm working on my band composition, and a lot of my inspiration is being drawn from some of my favorite anime themes from back in the day, ahaha. Lotsa Full Metal Panic there, hm.

xbrokentrinkets always makes the best MVs over on YouTube.

I really dig her music taste. I haven't watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, but after watching this, I definitely need to, haha.

Three more days until Spring Breakkkk! I don't have anything in particular planned. I'm looking forward to it as more of down time; a chance to sit back and start reviewing for AP tests, actually. I need to focus on Gov and Calc and Latin. (English Lit and Bio, I think I'm fine...) And to finish drafting for the Ayn Rand contest. Before that though, Calc test. We're going over 3-D planes and vectors; I really like it. Math is nice when its visual. When it comes to series and convergence/divergence tests and infinity stuff... that's when I get lost.

The King and I! It's... so boringgg. D; The brass parts are less than captivating- we have entire pieces tacet, and a lot of my part revolves around offbeats. But oh well. I'd rather be bored in pit band than be not involved at all. And I'm hoping pit band will get quirky again this year.

What I'm looking forward to the most: UCLA trip on the 5th! :D :D :D I have to miss the first day back from break, but that's okay.

I dunno; I'm just really on a roll school-wise right now. I haven't really slept these past two days, but I've been keeping up with school and stuff. :) It's a good feeling.

To Do (now through  break):
- Finalize entries for The Frigate
- AP Gov make-up work; my grade is eeeh. :/
- Ayn Rand scholarship essay. Finish reading The Fountainhead!
- Calc review;; extra credit problems
- Band composition
- AP review in general
- Practice for band.
- Finish cleaning! But this time, fo reals. I'm so close to being done.
- Weed through and organize schoolwork

Current/upcoming projects:
- GET MY DRIVER'S LICENSE ALREADY AAAARGH
- Watch The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and  catch up on Vampire Knight somehow.... (manga or anime, idk)
- I'm getting back into playing the guitarrr.
- Summer project: Record an album. Featuring me, and I don't know who else, but whatever. It'll be cool.
- College planning! :D :D :D

This song is so much better than Feeling Good, imo. Yeah, Michael Buble is crazy cool. Every time I hear it on VH1, I just have to start singing along. :)

Oh snap, its March. From here on out, everything else is just a waiting gameeee.

Finals today and tomorrow, and omg, walked into first period calc prepared to fail my final when my teacher tells us a lovely story:

He was nearly finished with our test when he decided to leave and get some lunch quickly, and when he had gotten back, he found out that... the janitor had turned off his computer. The test hadn't been saved.

The final's been postponed til Monday. Life is beautiful.

It's also raining like crazy. Of course, "raining like crazy" as defined by a desert rat translates as "it's actually raining for once". So. Coooool. Too bad its winter, though. I love the rain, but just not when it's all cold outside and stuff. Dx Summer rain is so much better.

So yeah. Life is goood.

Also, new BoA album sample!

I'm digging it. :)

I want a leather jacket. D:
